A group of friends is joining me on a cross country motorcycle ride this summer oganized as Meghan’s Ride to help support the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This ride is in honor of our second child, Meghan Kathleen Ledford who was born October 22, 1993. Meghan was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) on Friday, May 13, 1994 and was admitted to Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital in Atlanta. After four months of chemotherapy, she went into remission. A year later, she relapsed and received a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately, Meghan relapsed after the transplant and passed away August 24, 1995. She was 22 months old.
I’ve had a dream for a few years to do something to honor her and help St. Jude, so Meghan’s Ride was born. The riders will travel across the country from May 31st to June 17th and come home to a welcome home party at Olde Towne Tavern & Grill in Kennesaw, GA.
We have a goal to raise as much as possible for the kids of St. Jude. But I need your help.
Will you help me support St. Jude by donating today?
How your support helps:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent, and we won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Thank you for your support!
